Competition Performance Schedule 2012
The following is a summary of our competition team. Auditions are held so we can place dancers with their level & age appropriate groups. All dancers that audition will be a part of our competition team!
Time Commitment
- All Competition dancers are required to take ballet, jazz, and a technique class.
- Practice is on Sunday’s (Sept-June) Attendance is mandatory. Excessive absences may result in removal from the team.
- 5 Competitions
- 4 out of 5 will be local; we may attend one out of state.
- Dates will be given in October.
- All competition dancers are required to attend 1 convention a year. Guest choreographers at the studio counts toward a convention. Elite Team must attend 2 conventions a year.
- Nationals in June
Mini’s *NEW
We are adding a Mini division to our competition team. For that
young dancer that wants a chance to perform more times
throughout the season. Your competition class and recital class
will be combined. Your monthly tuition will be $ 10.00 extra
per month. Mini dancers will attend all of the competitions and
compete one dance. Their competition routine and costume will
be used as one of their recital routines.
Financial Commitment
Studio Tuition (September-June)
- $ 25.00 1st dance $15.00/small group (9 or less) $10.00/large group (10 or more) (Ex: Production, 1 small group, 2 large groups $ 25.00 + $ 15.00 + $ 20.00=$ 60.00 monthly tuition)
- $ 75.00/mo. competition carte blanche (unlimited # of dances) this does not include choreography fees!
- $ 115.00/month competition carte blanche for 2 family members, this does not include choreography fees!
- Solos $350.00 choreography fee (*must be on the competition team for 1 year before competing a solo).
- Duos/Trio $350.00 Choreography fee in addition to tuition (split between dancers).
- If you are doing a solo from last year private lessons are $25/30 minute lesson.
- NEW PRODUCTION Choreography fee $ 35.00/dancer. Production is required for all dancers.
Competition Entry Fees
For each competition we attend the following entry fees are due (approximately):
$ 65.00-90.00 per solo
$ 45.00-60.00 per duet/trio
$ 25.00-38.00 per person/group
There will be a $ 30.00/group, $45/duet/trio & $ 75/solo
deposit due on entry fees. This will be due November 1st. This
amount will be deducted from our last competition of the season.
Costumes
For every dance you participate in you will need a costume. Average $ 75.00-$100.00/dance. There is a $ 50.00 deposit/dance due by October 1st. Balance is due in November. Additional deposits can be paid at anytime.
Competition Uniform
We will be wearing the same uniforms that were ordered in 2009/2010 competition season. Uniforms are required. New members will need to purchase these uniforms. The cost is $ 150.00 due by October 1st. This cost includes jacket, pants, black shorts, and drawstring bag.
Our competition team continues to show a huge improvement every year. The goal of our competition team is to better ourselves in every performance. It is a great opportunity for dancers to learn to perform. We expect competition dancers to be leaders and role models in all their dance classes. We work really hard, but have a lot of fun doing it! It is a big commitment. I feel it is not only an asset to them as a dancer, but a life long experience! If you want to be a part of our competition team, come to the auditions and bring the form below! Please wear dancewear with personality to your auditions. Wear your hair in a tight low ponytail.
Grant Chenok will be teaching the audition choreography for Juniors and Seniors in his workshop on Friday, June 25th. Please be sure to sign up for his workshop! We have another guest choreographer in town that weekend. We may have them set a selected piece after auditions. If your dancer is chosen to be in that dance they will practice Sunday, June 27th

Petite Auditions 8 & under Saturday,
June 26th 9:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
Jr. Auditions 9-11 Saturday,
June 26th 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Sr. Auditions 12 & up Saturday,
June 26th 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.
Please come to the time specified for your age. Some dancers
may be asked to stay for the next age group.
