Great job at Hall of Fame!

**CANCELLED**
Do to an overwhelming response to Celebrity competition they had to down size their event.  The venue could not accommodate all of the studio’s that registered.  Unfortunately, our studio is unable to attend this event the weekend of March 28th & 29th.  I look at this as an opportunity for us to practice before Talent On Parade.  We will hold practice Saturday, March 29th at our regular times.  I will be issuing refund checks to everyone for Celebrity fees.  Your dancer will receive a refund check at our practice March 29th.

We would like to offer this competition to take the place of Celebrity.  We will only take groups that can attend in full.  Please return the attached sheet by Saturday, March 29th.  Our production “Colors” will not attend this event.  Groups attending will be handed out at practice Sunday, April 13th.

Recital Update
Due to the size of our competition team, we have to limit the number of competition dances in the recital.  Not all dances will be in the recital, so make sure your family comes to a competition to see you dance.  Competition dances that are performing in the recital will be listed in your recital packet.

Annual Competition Pizza Party

This year we will be assigning what needs to be brought to the pizza party to eliminate waste (ex: pop, water, plates, etc…) We will send this home with your dancer on April 18th.   

Due to the size of our competition team we are asking that you make a donation for the pizza party.  There will be a jar at the food table.  We ask that you contribute $3/attendee.

New to the team?
Every year we have a pizza party for our competition team.  This is for the dancer’s and their families.  This is a great way to pull our team together outside of practice.  We will have our annual limbo contest for the dancer’s and parent’s (not just the Mom’s).  We eat pizza, mingle, limbo… I hope that you can be a part of this fun night!

Following is a summary of our competition team.  Auditions are held so we can place dancers with their level & age appropriate groups.  All dancers that audition will be a part of our competition team!

Time Commitment

• All Competition dancers are required to take ballet, jazz, and a technique class.
• Practice is on Sunday’s (October-May) NEW* We will have an attendance policy this year that will be strictly enforced. 
• 5 Competitions - 4 out of 5 will be local; we may attend one out of state.  Dates will be given in October.
• NEW* All competition dancers will be required to attend one convention in 2007/2008.

• Nationals ~ Optional in 2008  (June or July)

Financial Commitment

Studio Tuition (September-May)

• $ 25.00 1st group dance then $ 10.00 for each additional
• Duos/Trio $100.00 Choreography fee in addition to tuition.
• Solos $300 Choreography fee (*must be on the competition team for 1 year before competing a solo).
• $ 65.00/mo. Competition carte blanche (unlimited # of dances) this does not include choreography fees! 
• If you are doing a solo from last year private lessons are $30/30 minute lesson.

Competition Entry Fees

For each competition we attend the following entry fees are due:
$ 65.00-80.00 per solo
$ 45.00-60.00 per duet/trio
$ 22.00-33.00 per person/group

Costumes

For every dance you participate in you will need a costume.  Average $ 75.00-$100.00/dance.  There is a $ 50.00 deposit/dance due by October 1st.  Balance is due in November.

Competition Uniform

We will be ordering new competition uniforms this year.  The cost of the uniforms is to be determined.  Please plan for $125.00-175.00.  We hope to have these ordered in September.  We order new uniforms every two years.

Our competition team continues to show a huge improvement every year.  The goal of our competition team is to better ourselves in every performance.  It is a great opportunity for dancers to learn to perform.  We expect competition dancers to be leaders and role models in all their dance classes.  We work really hard, but have a lot of fun doing it!  It is a big commitment and I feel it is not only an asset to them as a dancer but a life long experience!  If you want to be a part of our competition team come to the auditions and bring the form below!  Please wear a leotard and tights to your auditions.  Wear your hair in a tight low ponytail.
